About this blog

I started this project to experiment with focusing on a circular as opposed to a linear structure for my time, to bring attention to the current moment, and to celebrate the wonder of this world. The division of the year into solstice, equinox, and full moon segments provides a structure outside myself that allows me to focus on the present moment at each of these times without too much preconception as to what will occur.

Our typical Western way of experiencing life tends to be linear. We focus on establishing goals and are concerned with success or failure. We do things to get a result. We value going from one place to another and rising from one level to another. Our vision becomes narrowed to what is useful to achieve a goal and our attention is focused on the end result.

In a circular or holistic way of experiencing life we follow the circuit of the year. Attention is focused on daily/monthly/yearly activity and we value the local, sensory, and interactive.  Doing and observation are  functions of living. Living is experienced as a patterning process and an organic development. Travel outward and back to home is valued. We allow ourselves to expand outward from the center.

By paying attention to each solstice, equinox and full moon I hope to notice what is in my immediate environment and celebrate it. The purpose is to enjoy the day and not to try too hard!
